  • Mipac optimizes plant processes using service platform

Process Advantage program promises to release your plant's hidden potential.

By Control Engineering Staff -- Control Engineering, 7/1/2009

Mipac, consultants in process control, instrumentation, and electrical engineering solutions, have unleashed a new service solution, the Mipac Process Advantage. The plan has a four-step approach to improve operating processes.

The company says that in times of economic downturn it is imperative that operations run as efficiently and profitably as possible. Mipac’s holistic approach to plant and process optimization follows four phases: discover, develop, implement, and support. The result of such optimized operations are higher throughput and yield, decreased waste, lower costs, and deferred capital expenditures.

“Mipac Process Advantage was developed with a clear intent on delivering a solution to our customers that allows for continual improvement, without large capital expenditure,” says Eddie De Rivera, managing director, Mipac. “We understand the pressures and constraints currently being placed on businesses, and our aim is to deliver a solution that provides continual support and development.”

De Rivera adds that Process Advantage can be applied at any level in the control hierarchy, from basic regulatory control to plant-wide economic optimization strategies. It can be adapted to the life cycle of each individual plant, changing as the plant changes, resulting in continual process improvement.

Mipac says it provides process control, instrumentation and electrical engineering solutions, with specialties in industries that require continuous process control such as minerals, primary metals, and food and beverage processing. As a consultant and system integrator based in Brisbane, Australia, the company claims clients in more than a dozen countries, including Xstrata, Zinifex and Glencore International.
