Embedded: ultra slim embedded box computer with DVI
Contec USA has released an embedded box computer with a an ultra-slim design that allows it to be installed in a 35mm gap and a DVI interface for connecting to large-size LCDs.

Contec USA, a Sunnyvale, CA manufacturer of computer peripheral equipment, industrial computers and network devices, has released a variation of its GPC-BX950 series of embedded box computers equipped with a DVI interface for connecting to large-size liquid crystal displays. (DVI is a high-quality video interface technology made to maximize the quality of flat panel LCD monitors and modern video graphics cards.)Featuring the thinnest-in-class chassis measuring 256mm (w) ×183mm (d) × 25mm (h), the GPC-BX950 Series is built on Intel's 945GME chipset with high performance graphics accelerator and either a Dual Core or Celeron CPU. Its unique and compact design allows it to be installed in a 35mm gap. When used with the optional VESA bracket, it can be mounted directly on the back of LCD displays used in digital signage. It features dual Compact Flash slots allowing it to operate without an HDD or system fan. This lack of moving parts creates a highly reliable computer that is ideal for embedded applications. Interfaces include 2x1000BASE-T LAN ports, 4x USB 2.0 ports and 2x RS-232C serial ports.
By storing CMOS data on the system's EEPROM it is possible to boot the system even if the onboard battery stops working. The EWF (Enhanced Write Filter) function found in Windows XP Embedded prevents any accidental system changes. For additional reliability CONTEC provides clamps to prevent accidental cable disconnection and metal fittings to secure the CF cards.
