  • Chemical industry enterprise compliance package

CSC offering is said to enable companies to collect regulatory information from across the enterprise, verify it, and then distribute timely and accurate reports.

David Greenfield -- Control Engineering, 9/23/2009

CSC has released its Enterprise Compliance and Sustainability offering, a software and services solution the company claims is designed to help companies address multiple regulatory compliance mandates, while streamlining costs and reducing risk associated with implementing numerous enterprise-wide programs.

The package is said to enable companies to collect regulatory information from across the enterprise, verify it, and then distribute timely and accurate reports to the many regulatory agencies that monitor their business activities. A typical end-to-end implementation of the package includes program management, strategy, business process, technology and lifecycle support disciplines.

CSC says its offering includes a diagnostic assessment of current business processes, infrastructure and organization, deployment of a business solution optimized to meet client needs and follow-on lifecycle support.

"Meeting compliance requirements in the process manufacturing industries has often been sub-optimized by a piecemeal approach with little rationalization of business processes, IT architecture and data model designs, data management and reporting facilities," said Kenneth Brant, director, manufacturing research, Gartner Inc. "Meanwhile, regulatory requirements are driving up compliance costs at a time when chemical producers cannot afford any operational inefficiencies. Now, more than ever, compliance solutions that address a broader, more dynamic range of requirements, while leveraging IT assets and information management views across the enterprise, are sorely needed."
