NI provides real-time performance to CAN users

Austin, Tex.— National Instruments expanded functionality of its controller area network (CAN) communication hardware with the July 20 release of NI-CAN 1.5 driver software. With the new driver, engineers can use LabView Real-Time to develop applications that analyze, simulate, and control CAN devices. They can synchronize CAN, DAQ, and motion measurements across a real-time platform. Because the new software works with LabView Real-Time, engineers get the benefits of a real-time environment, such as deterministic, closed-loop performance and increased reliability, without having to learn the details of an RTOS.
