Reinach, Switzerland; Sao Paulo, Brazil— Endress+Hauser and Smar announced Nov. 8 that they will cooperate strategically in the area of field communication technologies. The two companies have already been working together on FOUNDATION fieldbus solutions. Smar and Endress+Hauser will focus cooperation on field communication in general, including FOUNDATION fieldbus, Profibus, HART and other standard technologies to provide open solutions to customers. Both companies state they have a common tradition of stressing open connectivity from field devices to control architecture and the manufacturing execution system.
