Cleveland, O.— Demand for automated assembly systems and related subsystems in North America is expected to increase to $4.5 billion by 2002, according to a recent market study by Advanced Technology Advisors (ATA). The report, "North American Market Demand for Automated Assembly Systems," states that demand will increase for assembly systems, electronic parts placement, assembly robots, parts feeders, modular structural elements, and other equipment used to design and build these systems. It adds that strong demand from end-users in the electronics, medical, and consumer products areas will likely lead all segments in the automated assembly field with 10% annual growth rates.
