Intellution and Grayhill Agree to Integrate Products

Staff -- Control Engineering, 3/1/1998

Norwood, Mass.— To help users cut time spent on I/O device configuring and tag naming, Intellution Inc. and Grayhill Inc. (LaGrange, Ill.) recently agreed to port Intellutions Paradym-31 SoftLogic control software to Grayhills PC-based OpenLine controller [Both are winners of s 1997 Editors Choice Awards.] The Paradym-31-enabled controller will take advantage of Intellutions FastLink technology to share I/O data with Intellutions FIX human-machine interface.

Contrary to most applications where I/O configuration and tag name assignments are time consuming, the OpenLine controller scans the ID pins of each I/O point populating the Paradym-31 database automatically. This database automatically populates the FIX database using FastLink over an Ethernet network.

Christopher Zei, Intellution's director of marketing and business development, says, "The partnership with Grayhill is the tightest integration of Intellution software products and third-party hardware possible and presents a very competitive and capable overall solution."

Grayhill expects to be in beta testing in May and release products this summer.

"Simplicity is highly valued by our customers," added Brian May, president of Grayhill's Electronic Systems division. "I believe the integration of the FIX, Paradym-31, and OpenLine will result in the simplest system to configure, program, and troubleshoot on the market today."
