Momentum continues for SPS/IPC/Drives 2000

Frank J. Bartos, executive editor -- Control Engineering, 1/1/2001

Nürnberg, Germany— Notch another successful run and continuing momentum for SPS/IPC/Drives, the Electric Automation Technology Exhibition & Conference, held here Nov. 28-30. Visitors increased 14% to 18,700, while 642 exhibitors (98 more than in 1999) occupied 33,400 m² of floor space—a growth of 11% —at Nürnberg's Exhibition Center. It continues a trend of similar recent growth. This year, an IT & Automation sector expanded the event's in-depth technical conference as well as its exhibition program. Known as a well-focused show, SPS/IPC/Drives displays a wide range of technologies—from digital and analog industrial communication networks, industrial software, and integration of business with manufacturing processes to electric drives/motors, sensors, and machine vision systems. The next SPS/IPC/Drives event, together with IT & Automation, is slated for Nov. 27-29, 2001.
