Sensors Expo showcases solutions

Staff -- Control Engineering, 8/1/2000

Detroit, Mich.— This year's second Sensors Expo will include more than 350 exhibitors, thousands of sensor, software, and peripheral products, a five-track conference program, and other highlights on Sept. 19-21 at the Cobo Convention Center here.

This will be second time Sensors Expo is co-located with Motion Control Expo, which will feature electronic, optical, hydraulic, mechanical, and electromechanical motion control systems and components. The event will also include its Best of Sensors Expo Award program, theater-style vendor presentations, and a free poster session. Some of Sensors Expo's innovative products include:

Telemechanique XUFN photoelectric sensors from Square D (Palatine, Ill.) use their fiber-optic capabilities to succeed in inaccessible, small-target, extreme-environment applications. Visit www.squared.com.

Designed to detect small parts and precision alignment, Square D's XUFN photoelectric sensors are available in 10-, 20-, and 30-mm convergent beam distances.

Turck Inc.'s (Minneapolis, Minn.) PT30 and KT34 PVDF capacitive sensors are barrel-sized and constructed of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) to achieve exceptional resistance in most industrial-use chemicals. PT 30 is 30 mm and offers a 10 mm sensing range, while KT34 is 34 mm and offers a 20 mm sensing range. Visit www.turck.com.

Turck's PT30 and KT34 PVDF capacitive sensors can be used in wafer fabrication and caustic washdown applications.
