  • To make customers' transactions more efficient, Rockwell Automation (Milwaukee, Wis.) launched Mar. 2 its Configured Supply Program, a web-enabled service designed to cut costs, improve asset utilization, and preserve local service and support. For example, the program can help users tailor automation purchases to best suit the needs of single and multi-site facilities. The program is delivered through www.rockwellautomation.com.
  • NETsilicon Inc. (Waltham, Mass.) on Feb. 24 introduced NET+Lx, an embedded network connectivity system using Linux.     Ametek Inc. (Paoli, Pa.) recently bought Drexelbrook Engineering Co. (Horsham, Pa.) for about $25 million in cash. With sales of $30 million in 1999 and 220 employees worldwide, Drexelbrook designs and manufactures point level and continuous level measurement and control devices and flow measurement instrumentation. Drexelbrook joins another recent acquisition, Patriot Sensors, in Ametek's newly formed Sensor Technology Division.
