Orbital buys Foxboro's PCG product line

Staff -- Control Engineering, 6/1/2000

Pomona, Calif. Orbital Sciences Corp. recently purchased The Foxboro Co.'s (Foxboro, Mass.) Process Gas Chromatography (PCG) product line. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Foxboro will continue to be a worldwide reseller of the PCG products, which are used by refining, petrochemical, natural gas, chemical, and other industries to measure composition of process streams.

Orbital plans to integrate the PCG line into its Applied Instrument Technology (AIT) business unit, which is part of Orbital's Sensor Systems Division. AIT will assume responsibility for the ongoing service and support of the line's installed base, as well as manufacture and sell new systems. The PCG line will complement Orbital's existing process analytical instruments, including Analect FTIR, MGA Process Mass Spectrometers, PIONIR Near-Infrared, and CS 200 Flow Injection Analyzers.
