Interkama to change frequency, length; add coverage

Staff -- Control Engineering, 11/1/1999

Düsseldorf, Germany—Big changes are in the wind for Interkama, the International Trade Fair for Industrial Communication, Automation, Measurement, and Analytics that held its 14th edition here Oct. 18-23. In view of recent industry developments, show organizer Messe Düsseldorf GmbH and Interkama's executive board decided to reshape the event with forward-looking strategies. Announced at the fair's mid-point on Oct. 20, Interkama will begin a new two-year rotation, go to a five-day run (Tuesday through Saturday), and include a new range of offerings with the theme of "Automating Production and Business Processes." Behind the decision was what Messe Dusseldorf calls, "something of a revolution" for the automation market. This trend is "marked by far-reaching changes on various fronts. Interkama's prior three-year cycle would no longer do justice to the high degree of dynamism in the industry." The 15th Interkama is slated for Sept. 25-29, 2001.
