Fond du Lac, Wis.— To reinforce its customer service commitment throughout the life of its products, Giddings & Lewis Inc. established Aug. 30 a new business unit, Advantek Global Services. Dedicated to providing customers with after-sale service solutions, Advantek consolidates the separate service operations of two Giddings & Lewis companies—Machine Tools and Controls, Measurement & Sensing—into one business unit. Integrating these units' capabilities and expertise into one division will create a centralized structure expected to ensure seamless customer support for all of Giddings & Lewis' OEM brands, including Sheffield Measurement, Kearney & Trecker, Warner & Swasey, Winslow, Gray, Bickford, and Gisholt. Advantek will be led by Bill Farrow, Giddings & Lewis' vp and gm.
