Corrections, Clarifications

• A headline in the News section, CE, April'99, p. 49, and in U.S. News Perspective, CEI, April'99, p. 28, should have named the purchaser of Aeroquip-Vickers as Eaton Corp. (Cleveland, O.), parent of Cutler-Hammer. A second news item on p. 50 should have stated that David Adams was appointed as Eaton's Hydraulics and Aerospace Integration vp.
• In the "PCs Are Gaining Control" article in CE, Feb.'99, p. 66, and CEI, Mar.'99, p. 51, a table of PC-based control vendors should have listed Foxboro software as "I/A Series" and strategy as "Microsoft Windows NT." FoxDMM is computerized maintenance management software integrating Maximo from PSDI with Foxboro's I/A Series. While Foxboro uses Java in a wide variety of applications, Java does not currently represent a core Foxboro strategy for PC-based control.
• In the "Stars of 1998''article in CE, March'99, p. 68, an incorrect photo for Honeywell Micro Switch's 990 Series proximity sensor was used on p. 74. The correct photo for the sensor is reprinted here. In the same article, the correct name of Weidmüller's winning product on p. 82 is WINbloc Networked I/O Modules.
