Petach-Tikva, Israel — With the launch of its new P-CIM package, Afcon Control & Automation recently became one of the first companies to market a supervisory control and data acquisition/human-machine interface (SCADA/HMI) software program using Microsoft Windows CE and NT platforms. This means users can run the package on small PCs, and only need a minimal amount of engineering time to generate an application. P-CIM for Windows CE has been designed to use minimum-resource computers, such as Intel 486, MIPS, or SH microprocessors. Users report they can create a small application—such as two display screens with up to 75 updates in each screen—in about two days. Larger applications can be generated in five days.
