New Siebe division name reflects acquisitions

Foxboro, Mass.— Siebe plc renamed its control systems division July 8 as Siebe Intelligent Automation (SIA). The new name recognizes the division's recent acquisitions of Wonderware (Irvine, Calif.), Simulation Sciences (Brea, Calif.), and U.K.-based Eurotherm. "These acquisitions make our division the only sensor-to-boardroom automation solutions provider," says Dr. George Sarney, SIA's president and coo. "Our technology leadership, including I/A Series, Wonderware, and SimSci products, gives customers the world's most powerful software platform.
