Small, temperature compensating airflow transducer
-- Control Engineering, 10/1/2001

Shirley, Mass. - AVT Series airflow transducer
simultaneously measures air velocity and air temperature in real time. According
to its developer, the device was developed to meet the needs of OEMs for high
accuracy monitoring and performance control with unparalleled accuracy over a
wide temperature range. The AVT features an exclusive, field proven temperature
compensation algorithm that allows for accurate readings from 10-60 C, greatly
expanding the applications where reliable measurements can be taken when
compared to room temperature calibrated instruments. The device's thermistor
technology allows the AVT to retain its calibration over time and is not
sensitive to supply voltage-accepts anywhere between 12-24 V dc. Standard
velocity ranges include 0-100 fpm up to 0-2,000 fpm. Output choices include 0-5
V, 0-10 V, or 4-20 mA.
