Exton, Pa. - The OJ family of sensors incorporate advanced features such as automated setup/calibration and signal strength monitoring in housings that measure only 15/16 x 1-3/4 x 7/16-in. (24 x 45 x 11 mm). These sensors are available with either a visible light or a laser light source. Two configurations provide the lens on the 15/16 x 1-3/4 surface (face sensing) or on the 1-3/4 x 7/16 surface (side sensing). They have an IP68 rating for protection in environments where moisture is present. During initial installation, a pushbutton calibration procedure allows the OJ to learn the signal characteristics of both the target and the background. The sensor will then automatically adjust its range to provide the maximum safety margin under both the target present and target not present conditions. OJ sensors, with visible red LEDs as the light source, are available in thru-beam, polarized retroreflective, and diffuse-reflective models. Laser models are available in thru-beam or polarized retroreflective.
