Linear drives with miniature profile

-- Control Engineering, 7/1/2001

Roanoke, Va. - Two versions of Wiesel linear drives are now available for tight space applications. Each has a compact aluminum profile (40 x 40 mm) and maximum stroke length of 6.5 ft. Wiesel PowerLine WM40 linear drive employs a precision ball-screw assembly. It handles forces up to 225 lb and speeds up to 0.82 ft/sec with ±0.0004 in. repeatability. The integral bearing structure permits high speeds, long stroke lengths, and supports external loads/moments on all axes. Wiesel SpeedLine WH40 combines a belt-drive unit with a rigid profile optimized by FEA and an integrated linear guide system that withstands all loads and moments. The drive offers maximum accelerations up to 4 G and speeds up to 10 ft/sec with repeatability of ± 0.002 in.
