Chicago, Ill.-ADLINK (Irvine, Calif.) showed National Manufacturing Week attendees an I/O bus technology based on RS-422. Its implementation uses Cat5 standard cable to connect modules. Called 'High Speed Link, ' the network is designed for full duplex, multidrop implementation. Using master/slave topology, slave units may be located up to 200 m from the PC. Transmission speeds of 6 Mbs allow scanning of up to 1,000 I/O points per msec.
