Multimeter adds performance, holds cost

Everett, Wash.-Engineers at Fluke held more than 20 focus groups to determine what customers needed in a multimeter. The 170 series resides in the $160 to 210 market segment and features a true-rms engine, 0.09% accuracy with 6,000 counts of resolution, and a Min/Max/Avg mode. The meters provide Vac range fro 0.1 mV to 1,000 V as well as frequence range from 2 Hz to 100 kHz. Model 179 also measures temperature with sensor leads plugged into conveniently located front panel sockets.
