PartSpec and PlantSpec features 2D and 3D images

-- Control Engineering, 12/1/2000

New York, N.Y.-Thomas Register is making available to qualified users, free copies of Edition 4.0 of PartSpec and PlantSpec CAD on CD-ROM. Edition 4.0 features parametric 3D drawings from 194 manufacturers. Mechanical and electrical designers can assemble millions of drawings from dimensionally accurate, pre-drawn, manufacturer-specific .DWG drawings and product detail libraries on the CD. For example, the parametric technology permits creation of more than 100 million different parts in detailed or normal mode for a single fluid power manufacturer. Detail mode generates geometry images with details like threads in tapped holes, threads on the end of a cylinder, or teeth on a sprocket. Normal mode generates the same part but requiring less space and complexity. Better display and rotation of 3D parts in shaded mode has been improved, and a new feature permits 3D parts to be automatically rotated. To receive an application form via fax-back service call 1-800-327-8882 and enter 5427 when prompted.
