Cable management system
Tinley Park, Ill.-IN-Cabinet cable management system is designed to properly manage and organize patch cords and distribution cables within a control cabinet. The system works with most of the leading cabinet designs and includes provisions for managing cables horizontally and vertically. The system is designed for multimedia applications including UTP, ScTP, coax, and fiber-optic cables. It consists of vertical panels of various sizes, and two types of mounting configurations, mounted to the rails of cabinets 27-in wide or wider. The slotted duct on each panel is designed to make cable entry and exit quick and efficient. Panduit Corp.

Atmospheric sensor
Cincinnati, O.-Sentinel-ES is a sensor that monitors oxygen concentrations in applications running at temperatures or in environments too hostile or impractical for in-situ probes. The sensor's design eliminates temperature drift and recalibration requirements. It provides high response time and resists thermal shock, condensation contamination, and the need for separate reference air and/or burn-off panels. Applications include annealing, brazing, and sintering operations, endothermic generators, and various forms of carburizing and nitriding. Marathon Sensors Inc.

Pull-type dc solenoid
Canaan, Conn.-SCN1624 Series C-frame, pull-type solenoids are designed as high efficiency, low profile, compact devices. The frame/coil envelope size is 0.579 x 0.658 x 0.760 in. Additional features include optimized force/stroke characteristics and a threaded baseplate. The solenoids are available for operation on 3, 6, 12, and 24 V dc and have a maximum holding force of 6 oz. Applications include computer peripherals and general instrumentation. Bicron Electronics Co.

Gas monitoring system
Rolling Meadows, Ill.-PureAire VOC/HX Monitoring System is capable of detecting and measuring 0-50 ppm concentrations of gases traditionally monitored at LEL levels, such as methyl bromide and methyl iodide. Measurement information is displayed on a local readout. Output is delivered as a 4-20 mA analog signal. The system is housed in an explosion-proof enclosure and is suitable for installation in Class I, Division 1, Group B, C, and D hazardous areas. It operates on 24 V dc and may be located 3,200 ft from a centralized controller or PLC. PureAire Monitoring Systems Inc.

Harsh environment touchscreen workstation
Petaluma, Calif.-AS-100 workstation with touchscreen features a high-resolution 14.1-in TFT liquid crystal display and a 6-slot passive backplane. The workstation has a heavy-duty steel chassis, a NEMA 4/12 sealed aluminum alloy front panel and mount. AS-100 is 14.8 x 13 x 6.9 in and operates at temperatures from 0-50°C and in noncondensing relative humidity from 5-95%. The workstation comes with Window 98 or Windows NT 4.0 installed. Additional features include front panel LCD brightness control, CD-ROM, floppy drive, and optional resistive touchscreen. AutomationSolutions

Sensor terminal blocks
Carlisle, Pa.-Sensor Terminal Block is a preassembled unit that is designed specifically for use with 3-wire sensors. The unit is said to reduce the labor needed to assemble DIN-rail terminal blocks used for 3-wire devices, such as proximity sensors, by as much as 50%. The device's Lock Connection system is a preassembled fork-bridging system that allows the positive and negative connections to be made by simply sliding the terminal blocks together and then tightening the integrated screws. Color-coded insulating covers are available for the dc power supply connections. Automation Systems Interconnect Inc.

Self-tuning level sensor
Fremont, Calif.-CG Series level control and interface detection capacitance sensor provides reliable and cost-effective point level detection of liquids, solids, and adhesive conductive media. Free from initial calibration requirements, the device offers stable detection in a wide sensitivity range and resists conductive coating problems. CG Series is self-tuning by virtue of its patent-pending design. It offers liquid crystal display calibration and adjustment and is FM approved for Class I, Div. 1, 2, and 3 environments. Additional features include self-diagnostics, auto testing, and one-touch calibration. Scientific Technologies Inc.

Long-range ultrasonic prox
Dayton, O.-Model SM600 ultrasonic sensor features a 1-in deadband and an 18 -mm barrel package. Unlike inductive proximity sensors that must almost touch the object, ultrasonic units can be backed off a sensing-range distance of 1-12 in. from the object being sensed. This places the sensor out of harm's way, but close enough to provide reliable sensing in many harsh environments. Fully tamper-proof, the Model SM600 devices are factory configured for a specific sensing range, as well as a fixed sensing window as narrow as 1/8 in. The sensor is IP67 and NEMA 4X rated. Hyde Park Electronics Inc.

DIN rail-mounted protective relays
Carpinteria, Calif.-WD Series protective relays incorporate features that allow a single relay to be configured to several different sensing voltages, currents, and frequencies. The DIN rail-mounted devices are small (3 x 3 in.), lightweight, and inexpensive. They are available in three control voltages and have built-in under and over voltage trip settings and adjustable delay timers. CII Technologies, Kilovac & Vilmar Products Div.
