INtools 5.1 adds fieldbus design and complex control loop support

Huntsville, Ala.-Intergraph has added fieldbus, as-built project design isolation, and complex loop support in the INtools 5.1 release. Using drag and drop tools, designers can ensure fieldbus designs maintain best practices in the number of devices per segment and spur, cable length, power supply current and voltage sizing, and other fieldbus restrictions and rules. When designing additons or plant expansions, INtools maintains database isolation between as-built and in-progress designs. When the addition or expansion is commissioned, the as-built database can be updated. Complex control stratagies include multiple variable and loops. With INtool's SmartLoop, diagrams and other information related to complex control strategies is managed and documented together, thus eliminating the need for a seperate CAD program.
