User requests improve control design software

Marion, Ind.-VIA Development has incorporated a wide array of user-requested features in Version 6.0 of its Electrical Controls Design software. User productivity improvements include:

• Device locator zooms directly to a device tag;
• Change module addressing allows 'recycling' modules from earlier drawings;
• Setup wizard speeds project configuration efforts using simple question and answer format;
• Module builder helps maintain consistency by allowing users to modify existing or create new I/O modules;
• Coil/contact cross-referencing report provides error-checking of assigned parts; and
• ODBC connectivity between databases.
