Torque transducer "deaf" to IGBT noise

-- Control Engineering, 12/1/1999

Hoffman Estates, Ill.-New technology makes MCRT 4900V dc-operated noncontact torque meters insensitive to severe electromagnetic interference from IGBT-based adjustable speed drives. Its ferrite-free signal transformer is also immune to vibration, hydraulic fluids, and harsh environments. The transducers interface directly to PC and PLC controllers and data acquisition systems. They feature bi-directional operation from stall to maximum speed, dual ± 5 V outputs, signal filtering, and remote calibration.
