Intrinsically safe oxygen transmitter joins PlantWeb line-up

-- Control Engineering, 12/1/1999

Orrville, O.-The 4081FG intrinsically safe In Situ Oxygen Analyzer from Rosemount Analytical's Process Analytic Division has obtained FOUNDATION Fieldbus certification and is now authorized to bear its registration checkmark. The Analyzer is a key part of the Fisher-Rosemount PlantWeb field based architecture. According to the company accurate measurement and control of excess oxygen allows for safe process operation, provides substantial fuel savings, and increases process capacity and ease of operation. It measures oxygen concentrations in process combustion gases where temperatures range from 1,022 - 2,912 ºF (550 - 1,60 ºC). Its patented zirconium oxide sensor measures excess oxygen directly in the gas stream eliminating the need for complex, expensive sample extraction and sample handling systems. The product's oxygen probe and electronics are intrinsically safe, requiring no costly design modifications such as flame arrestors and barriers.
