Transmitter platform adds functionality, convenience

Chanhassen, Minn. Rosemount, a division of Emerson Process Management (Austin, Tex.), recently introduced its 3051S Series of pressure measurement instruments, which is a redesigned platform that places new microelectronics in the same rugged enclosure with the pressure sensor. This creates an extremely small package, about half the size of the Rosemount's familiar 3051 pressure transmitter.
The 3051C SuperModule features a 316L stainless steel housing that withstands harsh field environments and provides 0.04% accuracy, 200:1 turndown, and 100 msec response time. It also features what is reportedly the industry's first 10-year stability guarantee under process conditions.
The instrument's scalable intelligence and advanced diagnostic and control capabilities provide access to Emerson's PlantWeb architecture, and also features FOUNDATION fieldbus, HART, 4-20mA, and Profibus communication protocols as plug-and-play options.
