Cleveland, O.— Parker Hannifin Corp. announced Feb. 21 that is has formed a long-term business alliance with Animatics Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.), which manufactures integrated motor control systems, known as SmartMotors. Their alliance will give Parker access to Animatics' patented integrated motor control technology, including new products; allow the two firms to participate in joint product development; incorporate Animatics integrated controllers on motors that Parker manufactures; and sell the resulting products through its own channels. Parker will manufacture these integrated motor modules at the Compumotor Division of its Automation Group (Rohnert Park, Calif.), and will be a completely independent source for integrated servo products.
