Intrinsically safe vibration transmitter

Staff -- Control Engineering, 11/1/2001

Maryville, Tenn.— Model 571 intrinsically safe loop-powered, vibration transmitter protects rotating and reciprocating machinery from catastrophic failure by alarming increasing vibration levels. It measures both acceleration and velocity in three ranges and is reverse polarity protected. Model 571's corrosion resistant, NEMA 4X-rated, and EMI protected sensor provides 4-20 mA dc output proportional to vibration, offering continuous monitoring of machine vibration for predictive maintenance trending, alarm, and shutdown when used in conjunction with a PLC, computer, DCS, data logger, or current relay. The transmitter is said to be easy to install (1/4-28 tapped hole and stud provided) and needs no calibration. www.robertshawindustrial.com Robertshaw Industrial Products Div.
