Sensorless control for multiple motor types

Hillsboro, Ore.— SpindleBlok Drive Module (SDM) versions are now available for use with ac induction, brushless servo and brushless dc motors. It runs virtually any three-phase motor from 1 to 20 hp without a sensor. SDM can be interfaced with machine mounted operator stations (0-10 V dc) or PC machine controllers (±10 V dc). Dynamic velocity performance is derived from the company's 400 µsec velocity loop update rate and 1.5 msec torque response, allowing it to deliver 100:1 constant torque-speed range and up to 5:1 field weakening speed range. SDMs are available in sizes from 1 to 27 amp rms and cover all voltage input mains from 110 to 480 V ac. www.semipower.com Semipower Systems Inc
