Milwaukee, Wis.— PowerFlex 7000 medium-voltage ac drives feature a simplified design said to lower commissioning, training, and maintenance time, as well as reduce the total cost of ownership. The drive incorporates a new power semiconductor device known as a symmetrical gate-commutated thyristor (SGCT), which lowers conduction and switching cost, reduces total component count, and increases reliability.
