IMTS 2002 expects near sellout

Staff -- Control Engineering, 8/1/2002

McLean, Va.— While attendance and exhibitors at some major tradeshows have decreased in recent years, organizers of this year's International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS 2002) reported July 3 that their event is within a couple of percentage points of selling out in all nine of its pavilions. IMTS 2002 will be held Sept. 4-11 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The show will feature more than 1,300 exhibitors, as well as in-depth seminars and classes that are offered as part of the Society for Manufacturing Engineers' (SME, Detroit, Mich.) Manufacturing Conference. Scheduled in even-numbered years, the eight-day event typically attracts more than 100,000 attendees from the U.S. and 40 other nations.
