Staff -- Control Engineering, 9/1/2002

A longtime light in the control and automation field, James O. Gray, Jr., director of I/A Series system marketing for Invensys/Foxboro (Foxboro, MA) died on June 28, 2002. Mr. Gray's family and numerous friends marked his recent passing with great sadness and paid tribute to this much-respected colleague.

He was a valued member of the foundation's Executive Committee from its inception; a longtime member of its North American Marketing Committee; and served as secretary on the Fieldbus Foundation Board of Directors.

Mr. Gray contributed comments and input to this issue's "Augment Veteran Networks" article and to "Suit Yourself: Tailoring a Best-Fit Network" in the August 2001 edition of Control Engneering.

Mr. Gray is survived by his wife, Maria, and two sons, James O. Gray III and Douglas M. Gray. Donations in memory of James O. Gray, Jr., can be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.
