Smaller footprint for medium-voltage drives

Cambridge, ON, Canada-Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 7000 'A' Frame medium-voltage (MV) ac drives help to reduce installation space for units rated for 150-900 kW (200-1,200 hp) output. For example, a 750-kW unit operating at 4.16 kV, measures 2.0 m (78.74 in.). Air-cooled PowerFlex 7000 'A' Frame has three configurations: Base drive; base drive with integral isolation transformer; and base drive with integral line reactor. It uses sensorless-vector control, and doesn't need inverter-duty motors. Symmetrical gate-commutated thyristor (SGCT) power-switching devices lower conduction losses, reduce component count, and raise drive reliability. www.abpowerflex.com Rockwell Automation
