Elbow process conditioners
-- Control Engineering, 8/1/2002
San Marcos, CA - The Vorel 90°-elbow flow conditioner isolates flow disturbances, reduces swirl, and develops a highly symmetrical, repeatable flow profile with minimal pressure loss at the inlet to process equipment. According to its developer, today's compact plant designs, pumps and valves are required to operate with inadequate straight runs of pipe upstream of process equipment mounting locations. This results in swirl, cavitation, and skewed flow profiles prematurely wearing impellers and trim, which in turn results in costly down time of critical process equipment and soaring maintenance costs. The Vorel is simple and cost effective. It replaces the last pipe elbow upstream of the pump or valve to create a smooth, symmetrical flow pattern at the inlet.
