ABB’s Inform^IT Information Manager solution is designed to collect, store, and retrieve historical and real-time process data from control and related systems and turn the data into information important for improving key performance indicators. Information Manager combines the MES/PIMS environment and functionality with the control environment in order to make information available to operators, engineers, and managers in a variety of views. Information Manager also supports integration with commercial data analysis and business systems, providing opportunities to incorporate additional real-time and historical business information. Information Manager’s use of a single database eliminates engineering duplication and provides single point change management for process and historical data definitions. Information Manager includes extensive reporting and data exchange capabilities to meet a variety of industries reporting requirements. It can generate regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports in a variety of Microsoft Window’s formats and transmit the reports to multiple destinations.
