Software for Linux

-- Control Engineering, 3/1/2004

Mathematica 5 and gridMathematica are now available for Linux on AMD64 systems. Mathematica 5 is among the first technical computing platforms optimized for the AMD64 architecture. It outperforms a regular Linux version of the program on AMD64 systems by up to 50% in typical scientific and technical calculations. gridMathematica for AMD64 provides a smooth migration path from scalar 32-bit computing to parallel 64-bit computing. Availability for Athlon and Opteron processors helps ensure that applications can take full advantage of the AMD64 architecture.
