Real-time reasoning engine

Gensym's G2, version 8.0

Staff -- Control Engineering, 1/1/2005

G2 real-time reasoning engine platform, version 8.0, from Gensym sets a new technology benchmark for real-time automation of critical operations, according to the developer. Next-generation product features new capabilities for reasoning, integration, embeddability, user interfaces, and productivity.

G2 8.0 includes message management and reasoning tools for highly scalable, distributed operator advisory and alarm management applications. Interactive, graphical user interface simplifies prototyping, development, and online deployment of solutions that automate and support real-time decisions. G2 enables smooth migration from previous versions. High-performance C/C++ programming interface for real-time sharing of application logic, objects, and data, simplifies programmatic access to G2 objects from other systems via remote procedure calls, increasing usefulness of G2 objects. It is available on the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows NT/2000/2003/XP, Sun Solaris on SPARC architectures, IBM AIX, Red Hat Linux and Linux Enterprise, HP-UX, and Compaq Tru64 UNIX. www.gensym.com
