Servo amplifier connects via FireWire

-- Control Engineering, 8/1/2005

Motors, drives, motion control

Ndrive MP digital servo amplifier is an ultra compact, high-performance discrete-drive option for the Automation 3200 motion system. Device is 41-mm wide by 141-mm high by 107-mm deep and can drive brushless, dc brush-type servo motors and stepper motors. Ndrive MP performs current-loop and servo-loop closure to achieve positioning performance and rate stability in a micro-sized package. High-performance DSPs perform complex calculations in real time. Processing capability allows the device to sample the digital current loop and servo loop at a rate of 20 kHz. Amplifiers handle digital and analog I/O interfaces and encoder multiplication.
