New course in HART online educational-series

By Staff -- Control Engineering, 11/1/2005

Austin, TX—Course Two in a free educational series on the HART field communications protocol is now available online. "Getting HART Data" covers how to use HART data to benefit from real-time integration with control, safety, and asset management systems. At the end of the course, users complete a short quiz to earn a certificate awarding two professional development hours.

The mini-course series from the HART Communication Foundation (HCF) is a learning tool for HART users and suppliers who want to know more about the capabilities of HART technology—how it works, the untapped resources it holds, and its value to plant operations. The third and concluding part in the series, HART Applications, will cover how HART technology delivers benefits in all phases of the plant life cycle from planning and engineering to asset productivity.

"More than 600 participants took Course One, HART Basics, in its first 45 days online, and that number continues to grow," says HCF Executive Director Ron Helson. "We are offering these free courses so that anyone who uses HART technology, from the novice to the most advanced specialist, can learn more about this powerful communication technology."
