ZigBee-compliant system-on-chip

Staff -- Control Engineering, 2/1/2006

CC2430ZDK-Pro development platform is now ZigBee compliant. Two hardware platforms are offered; both use CC2430 system-on-chip (SoC) and the Chipcon Z-stack. Kit is said to enable development of low-cost, low-power ZigBee certified products. Second-generation platform combines a 2.4 GHz transceiver with a compact, efficient 8051 microcontroller. SoC family includes three products—CC2430-F32, CC2430-F64, and CC2430-F128—based on the SmartRF03-technology platform. During receive- and transmit-modes, current consumption is 27 mA and 25 mA, respectively. Configuration can be used for a variety of ZigBee wireless network-nodes, including coordinators, routers, and end devices. www.chipcon.com Chipcon AS
