Pen-sized scope probe

Staff -- Control Engineering, 5/1/2006

HMI

PicoScope 2105 USB pen scope incorporates the features of many high-performance bench-top oscilloscopes into a small, lightweight, ergonomic probe that fits in the hand. Device is USB 2.0 powered and also works on USB 1.0 ports. Used with accompanying PicoScope software, the device converts any laptop or desktop PC into an oscilloscope without the need for additional probes or power supplies. It displays signals from 100 mV to 20 V. Features include high bandwidth, fast sampling, and equivalent time sampling (ETS), which enhances sample rate for measuring continuous signals. ETS or "repetitive sampling" works on repeating, stable signals by building up the waveform from successive acquisitions. An entry-level version of the scope is available for less demanding applications. Standard unit costs $349; entry-level version is $199. www.saelig.com Saelig Co.
