C.G. Masi joins Control Engineering

Staff -- Control Engineering, 8/1/2006

Charles G. (Charlie) Masi has joined Control Engineering's editorial staff as senior editor covering discrete controls. Masi succeeds retiring executive editor, Frank Bartos. (See related "Editorial," p.2) Masi's strong background in high-technology journalism will help CE continue its industry-leading coverage of discrete control systems, including machine controls; discrete sensors; motors, drives and motion control; hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and networks, among others.

"I feel privileged to follow in the footsteps of so eminent a magazine professional as Frank Bartos," said Masi, "and look forward to being part of the Control Engineering team."

Masi is a nearly 20 year veteran of high-technology journalism, having been chief editor of Test and Measurement World as well as contributing editor for R&D and Plant Engineering, with over 200 articles published in various technology trade publications and academic journals. With advanced degrees in Astrophysics and Business Management, as well as engineering and systems analysis experience, his broad background suits the broad range of industries that Control Engineering covers.
