Motion system for multi-axis applications

Staff -- Control Engineering, 11/1/2006

Motors, Devices, & Motion Control

CMS Cartesian motion system from Bosch Rexroth now includes IndraMotion for Handling, said to make it easier to specify, install, and control Cartesian robotics systems. Combination CMS is designed to eliminate the learning curve associated with programming and commissioning most point-to-point assembly applications. CMS with IndraMotion uses Rexroth’s L-40 and L-20 PLC-based motion controller and VCP 08.2 HMI controller interface to provide controls for Cartesian gantries with up to three linear axes (X, Y, and Z) and three rotary axes (A, B, and C). System includes hardware and software with predefined motion function blocks to run pick-and-place and loading/ unloading machinery. www.boschrexroth-us.com
