Ready-made motion control

By Staff -- Control Engineering, 4/1/2007

IndraMotion for Metal Forming roll feed system is a ready-made motion control system from Bosch Rexroth. System contains the pre-defined, user-activated functions needed for such applications as roll feed and a flying cut off. User sets length, speed, and quantity parameters. System is available in three versions that use open interface technology for discrete I/O points and standard field protocols (Profibus, DeviceNet), and is built on an IEC 61131-3 compliant PLC running in the IndraDrive. RFS roll feed standard version is a fully assembled, single axis system for applications requiring no programming. It consists of the IndraDrive basic controller hardware and the company’s VCP08 HMI. IndraMotion RFE version also comes with the VCP08 HMI but uses IndraDrive advanced controller to provide additional features such as higher stroke rates, programmable limit switches and tool (gag) outputs, and pass-through mode. Roll Feed User Created version has the uniform IEC 61131-3 IndraControl L PLC in the IndraDrive to allow the user to do programming to integrate custom roll-feed applications. www.boschrexroth-us.com
