Software minimizes design time

| New features of Eplan’s electrical engineering software let users edit device tags, function texts, or component numbers in a wiring diagram with a mouse click. |
No device dialog box needs to be opened because all information is intuitively modified where it is displayed in the schematic and updated online throughout the project. Modifications can also be made in the project reports. For example, if a limit switch part number is changed in the bill of materials, data in the wiring diagram also update automatically.
The project options module is intended to make it easy to generate project documentation for product variants automatically. The design engineer defines the electrical components of the desired machine configuration with a few mouse clicks in a central dialog box. When a modification to an existing system becomes necessary, says Eplan, the engineer simply selects the option for that alteration and the stored value sets for the new variant are propagated throughout the project in a fraction of the time it takes to re-design it. www.eplan.us Eplan Software & Services
