Recent standards developments at ISA include the following.

ISA99: Security for Industrial Automation & Control Systems. The ISASP99 committee has made substantial progress on several fronts in its work to develop standards and guidelines for the electronic security of industrial automation and control systems.

ISA12: Electrical Equipment for Hazardous Locations. ISA has published ANSI/ISA-12.12.01, “Nonincendive Electrical Equipment for Use in Class I and II, Division 2 and Class III, Divisions 1 and 2 Hazardous (Classified) Locations.” The standard provides minimum requirements for the design, construction, and marking of electrical equipment or parts of such equipment for use in Class I and Class II, Division 2 and Class III, Divisions 1 and 2 hazardous (classified) locations.

ISA104: Electronic Device Description Language - EDDL. An ISA technical report supporting Electronic Device Description (EDD) interoperability has received final approval from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). ANSI/ISA-TR61804-4 (104.00.02)-2007, Function Blocks (FB) for Process Control - Part 4: Electronic Device Description (EDD) Interoperability Guideline, is the official United States adoption of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) technical report of the same title.
