Integrated PLC/HMI with color screen

-- Control Engineering, 12/1/2007

Color displays enable machine builders to reveal greater details, display vivid, attention-grabbing alarms, and in general brighten up their systems. Unitronics’ new Vision350 incorporates all these color advantages into a compact all-in-one PLC/interface device.

Info, HMI
Unitronics' Vision 350 combines a fully functioning HMI witha compact PLC, reducing costs, cabinet space and wiring.
This PLC and enhanced HMI is equipped with a color touchscreen, an improved processor, and diverse I/O options. Adaptable to most TCP/IP or serial protocols, the Vision350 offers exceptional communication features, such as Ethernet connection via TCP/IP, GSM/SMS/GPRS, MODBUS, CANopen and UniCAN, and also includes free remote access utilities.

On the surface, the Vision350’s fully functioning HMI features a 3.5-in. color touchscreen display capable of supporting 3 MB of application memory for images and 512 KB for fonts, which allows about 250 images and 1,024 displays per application. Five programmable keys allow customization of customer logo, function and layout (keys could be labeled as arrow keys using a supplied keypad slide). Enhanced programming features include trending, built-in alarm screens and easy HMI language support.

This high-speed PLC allows for 1 MB of logic memory, and a scan time of 15µsec per 1 KB of typical application. It also offers up to 38 onboard digital and analog I/Os that can expand up to 166, and includes digital and analog I/Os, temperature measurement and load cell inputs, plus recipe programming via 120 KB of internal datalogging. At 24 PID loops with auto-tune, plus onboard Thermocouple and PT100 inputs, the Vision350 incorporates a full function temperature controller.
