PLCs for process heating applications
-- Control Engineering, 12/1/2007
Turnkey PLC-based process heating control systems for applications such as drying, shrinking, pre-heating substrates and de-flashing plastic parts have been released by Malcom Company. The systems include PLCs that can be preconfigured for multiple heat zones, each with independently controlled heaters and/or blowers. These also feature redundant safety interlocks. Designed for plug-and-play operation, the hot air process heating control systems include counters, timers, variable air flow speeds and recipes. Units are preconfigured and fully tested for a customer’s specific application. Designed to integrate with existing production and packaging applications, the systems can accommodate a variety of heat sources and interface with other industrial controllers. Control enclosures, which meet UL508A standards, can include LCD displays and switches or touch screens. www.malcomcompany.com Malcom Company
